PVC LEATHER LINED KNEE HOBBLES 

When putting the knee hobbles on, stand at the horse's left side and attach them to the right leg first, and then to the left leg. This sets you up to buckle the hobbles on the near-side leg. 

The purpose of hobbles is to encourage a horse to stand still and develop patience, as well as to prevent them from wandering off when grazing.

While hobbles are effective at restraining horses and still allowing them mobility to graze, there is an even more valuable reason to hobble a horse: teaching a horse to be comfortable in an initially uncomfortable situation.
