EGGBUTT SNAFFLE

The Eggbutt Snaffle is one of the most commonly used bits in English riding.

A cousin to the loose ring snaffle, it has a more stable mouthpiece with fixed egg shaped rings while reducing the risk of pinching.

The fixed rings of the Eggbutt lead your aim more towards the mouth, the bit is more stable and lays more still in the horses mouth. Therefore, if you put pressure to the reins, your horse will feel it directly and it puts some more pressure to the cheeks.

The bit rings can swivel front and back but the mouthpiece is solidly attached and there is little vertical play except through the rider's hands. As there is no curb or leverage action, it is a mild snaffle bit suitable for the everyday riding.
